About this procedure
Breast augmentation is a deeply personal decision — and the result should feel authentically yours. Dr. Sinnet Roy takes a meticulous, individualised approach: selecting implant size, shape and placement to suit your body proportions, lifestyle and goals, rather than applying a one-size-fits-all formula.
Breast augmentation uses silicone or saline implants to increase the size, fullness and projection of the breasts. It can also improve symmetry and restore volume lost after pregnancy or weight loss.
Dr. Roy uses high-quality implants and carefully plans the procedure around your body proportions — taking into account chest width, existing breast tissue, skin quality and your desired outcome.
Implants can be placed subglandular (above the pectoral muscle) or submuscular (beneath it) depending on your anatomy. Incision placement is planned to minimise visible scarring.

The procedure
The procedure is performed under general anaesthesia and takes approximately 1–1.5 hours. Incisions are placed in the inframammary fold (beneath the breast), around the areola, or in the armpit — depending on your anatomy and preferences. The implant pocket is carefully created and the implant positioned.
After surgery
A supportive surgical bra is worn for 6 weeks. Most patients return to light activities within 1 week and normal activities within 3–4 weeks. Strenuous upper body exercise is avoided for 6 weeks. Implants settle into their final position over 3–6 months.
Common questions
Modern silicone implants do not have a set expiry but most manufacturers quote 10–20 years before potential replacement may be needed. Many patients go longer without issues. Regular follow-up is advised.
In most cases, yes. Implants placed submuscularly typically do not interfere with breastfeeding. This is discussed specifically at consultation.
Silicone implants feel closer to natural breast tissue and are more commonly used. Saline implants are firmer. Dr. Roy will discuss which is appropriate for you.
Incisions are placed in discreet locations — under the breast fold, around the areola, or in the armpit. Scars mature significantly over 12–18 months.
Light activity within 1 week. Normal daily activities by 3–4 weeks. Upper body exercise and weight training should wait until 6 weeks minimum.
