About this procedure
A torn, split or stretched earlobe — whether from heavy jewellery, gauges, or trauma — is more common than most people realise, and more easily corrected. Lobuloplasty is a quick, precise procedure performed under local anaesthesia, restoring the earlobe to a natural, neat appearance.
Lobuloplasty addresses a range of earlobe concerns: partially or fully split earlobes, elongated piercing holes, stretched or gauge-related deformity, and irregular or asymmetric lobes.
The procedure involves carefully excising the damaged tissue, freshening the wound edges, and closing the repair with fine sutures — achieving a result that heals with minimal visible scarring.
Re-piercing is possible once healing is complete, typically after 6–8 weeks. Dr. Roy advises on piercing placement to avoid recurrence.

The procedure
The procedure is performed under local anaesthesia in a clinic setting and takes approximately 30–45 minutes. There is no hospital admission required. Fine absorbable or removable sutures are used for closure.
After surgery
Recovery is straightforward. Sutures are removed (if non-absorbable) within 7 days. The area should be kept dry for the first week. Minimal scarring is expected. Re-piercing can be performed after approximately 6–8 weeks.
