A word from Dr. Roy
Why do you want this?
"First thing I ask every patient — is this your decision, or someone else's? I will only operate on someone who wants this for themselves. Not for a partner, not because of a comment someone made, not because of family pressure. If you are not sure, come back when you are."
Tell me exactly what bothers you
"Vague goals lead to uncertain results. The patients I work best with come in knowing precisely what they want to be changed:"
What I will not do
"If you come in with a photo of someone else's nose and ask me to replicate it — I will decline. Every face is different. A nose that belongs to someone else will not belong to your face. I am not in the business of copying. I am in the business of improving what is yours."
What I will always tell you
"I will be straight with you. What is achievable, what is not, what the likely complications are, and what your anatomy limits us to. You will know all of this before you consent to anything."
You may not hear what you hoped
"I would rather you walk away from my consultation than walk into surgery with the wrong expectations. That is not a loss — that is the job done right."
What to expect
What determines your cost
A simple tip refinement takes less time and skill than correcting a deviated septum alongside a full rhinoplasty. More complex surgery costs more.
Operating time, anaesthesia duration and the number of nights admitted at Lakeshore Hospital all affect the final cost.
Implants, grafts, surgical materials and medications used during and after surgery vary between cases and are reflected in the cost.
A primary rhinoplasty and a revision (corrective) rhinoplasty are priced differently. Revision cases are more complex and require more time.
The range above is a ballpark to help you plan. Your exact cost can only be determined after a clinical assessment. Dr. Roy will give you a clear, itemised estimate at your consultation — before you commit to anything.
Common questions
The surgery itself is performed under general anaesthesia — you are fully asleep and feel nothing. Afterwards, most patients describe the discomfort as a pressure or heaviness rather than sharp pain. This is well managed with standard pain relief and typically settles within 3–4 days.
The splint comes off at one week and most patients return to desk work by week two. Visible bruising and swelling resolve within 2–3 weeks. You can resume light exercise at 4–6 weeks. The nose continues to refine over 9–12 months — this is when the final result is fully visible.
Nasal growth must be complete before surgery — generally around 17–18 years for boys and 16–17 years for girls. There is no upper age limit, though healing factors are considered in older patients.
Scarring is an inevitable part of surgery. In rhinoplasty, incisions are placed inside the nostrils or across the narrow strip of tissue between them. Any external scar is very small, placed in a discreet location, and matures well over time. Most patients do not consider it significant.
Yes. Functional and cosmetic goals can be addressed in a single surgery. If your breathing difficulty is caused by a deviated septum or other structural issue, this can be corrected at the same time as any cosmetic changes.
Rhinoplasty results are long-lasting. The structural changes made to bone and cartilage are permanent. However, the nose — like the rest of the face — continues to age naturally over time.
In a closed rhinoplasty, all incisions are inside the nostrils — no external scar. In an open rhinoplasty, a small additional incision is made across the columella, giving the surgeon better access for complex reshaping. Dr. Roy chooses the approach based on what your anatomy requires.
At Lakeshore Hospital, Ernakulam, the cost of rhinoplasty with Dr. Sinnet Roy ranges from ₹80,000 to ₹2,50,000. The final cost depends on complexity, operating time, hospital stay and consumables. A precise estimate is provided at consultation.
